On March 18, Wendee Constable, Jenny Czerwinski, and Katie Flanary were presenters at the 2024 VSLA Conference. Their session, Living Literature... ENGAGE! immersed participants in ideas about integrating language arts content into other subject areas. They shared lesson plans, digital materials, and hands-on resources with a room full of grateful teachers across Virginia. These River Bend kindergarten teachers and reading specialists modeled their collaborative lesson design and all the components of early literacy that they employ in their thematic units.
