Students at DECA

DECA students competed at the Virginia Beach State Leadership Conference March 1-3.

From Broadway High School, staff recognitions included Mrs. Cromer for her exceptional advisory skills and Mr. Stratford for his outstanding contributions to the Broadway High School DECA chapter, earning him the title of "friend of DECA".

The Broadway High School DECA chapter was honored with a gold cup for their outstanding achievement in the annual report.

Jaiden Nguyen received a medal for being the top performer in Apparel and Accessories Marketing with his test score.

Avery Tewalt received a medal for excelling as the top role-player in the Entrepreneurship role-play.

Ty Collins, Lilah Deavers, and Zachariah Stuhlmiller achieved fourth place in the hospitality and research operations competition.

Sarenna Lapp clinched the top spot in the Business Services Operations Research Event.

Ty, Lilah, Zechariah, and Sarenna are headed to the International Career Development Conference in Anaheim, California, in late April!

Savannah Janzen, Ashlyn, and Brooklyn Spitzer ranked 16th in the Community Awareness Project Management Event for their efforts in raising awareness of childhood cancer. Altogether, there are 34 teams.

Avery Tewalt placed 13th out of 72 competitors in the Entrepreneurship role-play event.

Turner Ashby High School has achieved Gold certification in the education sector.

Spotswood High School reported that Leo Johnson, Jai Singh, and Joshua Uribe secured the third position in the Entrepreneurship: Franchise Business Plan competition.

A photo was taken of the East Rockingham High School students showcasing their enthusiasm for DECA and proudly displaying the DECA insignia at the conference. In addition, Troy Smith and Jaiden Sweet will attend the International Career Development Conference.
