Week #38- May 18, 2026

We’re Not Done Yet!

As we head into the final weeks of the school year, the level of excitement is rising throughout the building! While we are looking forward to many fun end-of-year activities and celebrations, we are also focused on finishing the year strong. Continuing to encourage positive routines at home, including consistent bedtimes, reading, and school attendance, helps students stay successful and engaged through the very last day.

As summer gets closer, students can sometimes find it challenging to stay focused, but these final weeks are filled with important learning, opportunities for celebration, and time together as a school community. We also want to remind families to check the important dates listed below so you can stay up to date on all upcoming events and activities.

We appreciate your continued partnership and support as we work together to help students finish the year with pride and success!

We want to also wish the best of luck to our 5th grade challenge students, Dominic Zimbro, Eivin White, Isaac Butler, and Marcus Boatner as they travel to Madison, Wisconsin this weekend to compete in the World KidWind competition with their solar project! This team, the DC Currents, won first place in both the Regional and VA State competition and have been invited to compete globally. They will present their project and have numerous all-day challenges Sunday through Wednesday. Help us wish them luck as they represent not just McGaheysville Elementary, but the whole state of VA!

If you would like to run our Fact Fluency Cart in the month of May, please reach out to Mr. Kirk.
