Dear JCMES Families,
Today, we officially kicked off our summer countdown with a sweet treat from the Kona Ice truck. A big thank you to our amazing PTO for sponsoring this fun experience! All of our students and staff got to enjoy a delicious Kona Ice, and it was the perfect way to celebrate being just four and a half days away from the end of the school year!
Tomorrow is Field Day, and we are so excited for this special event. Even though the weather may be on the cooler side, we know it will be a fun-filled day! We encourage students to bring a change of clothes and to wear shoes and clothing they are comfortable getting wet in. A towel is also helpful, and we recommend applying sunscreen before coming to school.

We are currently looking to fill a part-time custodial position (2:00 PM – 6:00 PM) and a part-time instructional assistant position (8:00 AM – 11:30 AM) for the 2025–2026 school year. The Power of 20 Minutes a Day
As we head into the summer months, our librarian, Mrs. Simmers, shared a powerful graphic that highlights the impact of reading just 20 minutes a day. The difference it can make in vocabulary growth, academic success, and lifelong learning is remarkable! As routines shift during summer break, we encourage families to keep reading a part of each day. Important: Registering Returning JCMES Students by June 4th
As we wrap up the school year, please make sure your returning JCMES student is registered for the 2025-2026 school year by June 4th.
This is especially important because PowerSchool is changing how parent contact information is managed beginning July 1. Accurate contact information ensures that you receive messages from the school, transportation updates, and other important communication.
You will begin receiving weekly emails with your child’s snapcode, along with reminder text messages if your child is not registered yet. If you have already started registration, please be sure to complete it.
