Information about the Math Analysis program at RCPS

Mathematical Analysis

Students enrolled in Mathematical Analysis are assumed to have mastered the concepts outlined in the Algebra II standards. A thorough treatment of trigonometry will be provided through the study of trigonometric definitions, applications, graphing, and solving trigonometric equations and inequalities. Emphasis is also placed on using connections between right triangle ratios, trigonometric functions, and circular functions. In addition, applications and modeling are included throughout the course of study. Focus is placed on oral and written communication concerning the language of mathematics, logic of procedure, and interpretation of results. Math Analysis develops students’ understanding of algebraic and transcendental functions and sequences and series. The content of this course serves as appropriate preparation for a calculus course.
