Information about the Kindergarten science program at RCPS

In kindergarten science, emphasis is placed on wonder, discovery, questioning and using the senses. By applying scientific concepts to situations that are familiar to them, kindergarten students draw conclusions between what they learn in the classroom and in their own lives. Kindergarten focuses on:

-classification and patterns -measuring in nonstandard units -five senses -magnetism -physical properties of water -life processes of plants and animals -shadows -changes -cycles and patterns found in daily life -recycling
