Information about the Fourth Grade science program at RCPS

4th Grade Students are expected to have a Meaningful Watershed Experience

Emphasis continues to be placed on the inquiry process, developing investigative skills and understanding the nature of science. Fourth grade curriculum focuses on developing the student understanding of:

-force and motion -the characteristics of electricity -plant structure and life processes -ecosystems and ecosystem interactions -weather conditions, phenomena and weather prediction -organization of the solar system -Earth, moon and sun relationships -the importance of Virginia’s natural resources
