Information about the First Grade science program at RCPS

The first grade science curriculum has centered around the inquiry process, developing investigative skills and understanding the nature of science. Instruction centers on developing student understanding of:

-the movement of objects in response to forces -vibration and the production of sound -properties of water and how other substances interact with water -plant structures, functions and life process -characteristics of animals and their life needs -the relationship between the sun and Earth -weather and seasonal changes -natural resources are limited.
